Lotus Yarns makes luxury yarns using fibers like: Merino, Cashmere, Bamboo, Cotton, Soy silk and other types of wool. The Fiber Republic will be carrying two types of Lotus Yarns coming next week! We will carry "Sunset" and "Cashmerino, Aran weight" Check back next week for the product listings!

The Fiber Repbulic は初めてのインディペンデント・パターン「Inekari（稲刈り）」をリリースしました。これは、稲刈りをイメージしたショールです。
私はこの秋、幸運にも稲刈りの作業に招待されました。稲を刈り、刈った稲の束を運び、乾燥させるために逆さにして掛けるといったハードワークかつ貴重な経験をとおしてインスパイアされ、そこからうまれたイメージをパターンにしました。
このパターンは、近々、日本語と英語の両方で販売する予定です（200円程度を想定）。

The Fiber Republic's first independent pattern! "Inekari" A shawl for the harvest.
This autumn, a friend of the Republic invited Cassie up for a bit of rice gathering. Cassie was inspired by the hanging straw, and the hard work involved, so she translated that into a warm hug for autumn nights. This pattern will soon be available in English and Japanese for about ¥200.

Hello 2011! This year so far has awarded the Prime Minister with heaps of illness (seems to be one cold after another in our household) lots of knitting time, but difficulty in sitting down at the wheel....thus, I haven't posted any new yarns in a good while. Hopefully more interesting fibers and beautiful colors will be on their way soon!
Also, within the next two months, the needle tips will be in, and back up for sale! The fiber republic still has straights, and lots of other interesting things on offer, so have a look.

A note about the needle shop: We have just run fresh out of needle tips (apparently a hot item this year!) and will be getting more in soon! If you have patience The Fiber Republic will reward you with a free gift!
Winter 2010
Sorry to keep you all waiting for so long! With a heavy heart, we have decided to forgo publishing again as we feel the magazine isn't making any traction or making a big difference in the knitting world. With the invention of "Ravelry", any designer can self publish and gain the same amount of notoriety as he or she could in publishing with us. We plan to fully embrace the ravelry community, continue on with our shop and providing occasional patterns from our staff. Please check back for original sweater designs and other fun winter accessories!

Happy New Year! The Fiber Republic kicked off 2010 by setting up shop at Art Mucho in front of Foris, Fuchu! We met lots of knitters, crocheters, weavers and fiber lovers from all over Tokyo!
あけましておめでとうございます！ The Fiber Republic（ファイバー・リパブリック）は年始「府中アートマート」に出展し、2010年を無事キックオフしました。今回も数多くのニッター、クロシェター、ウィバー、そしてファイバーラバー（ファイバーをこよなく愛す人々）とお話できました。今年も宜しくお願いします！

What a great time! My husband, my staff, and I really enjoyed meeting knitters, crocheters, and fiber enthusiasts! Art Mucho was a great opportunity for us to get the word out about "The Fibertarian" and let the world have a chance to feel our yarns in person! I look forward to the next opportunity to meet as many amazing people as I met today! Thanks to everyone who stopped in to say hello, and to all of our new friends!
